KANSAS CITY, MO (October 2, 2024) – Today, the Kansas City Sports Commission and Visit KC announced Kansas City would host 8 NCAA Championship Events over the 2026/27 and 2027/28 academic years.
“Kansas City’s history of hosting worldclass collegiate championships is an important part of what makes us such a compelling destination, and I’m excited for the future of college sports in and around our metro,” says Kathy Nelson, President and CEO of the Kansas City Sports Commission and Visit KC. “These events generate significant economic impact for our hotels and small businesses, as well as shine a positive spotlight on Kansas City through broadcast programming, news coverage and social media.”

“What an incredible time to be in Kansas City. Our selection to host NCAA games recognizes our proven ability year-after-year to provide a top-tier experience for athletes and fans,” said Mayor Lucas. “We are excited to welcome teams, supporters, and visitors from around the country, showcasing all our community has to offer, including our passionate sports culture and world-class facilities. We look forward to hosting collegiate champions for years to come in the heart of Kansas City.”
