FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
GENERAL
Q: My daughter is entering Kindergarten for the 26-27 school year. Is she allowed to attend camp?
A: Unfortunately, she cannot attend camp. Campers must have completed Kindergarten before June 1st, 2026 to attend camp.
Q: My daughter and her friend plan to attend camp. Can we request for them to be on the same team together?
A: We will NOT be accommodating any friend requests this year. Camp WIN is an opportunity to meet new people and create new relationships. Campers will be grouped with those in their same grade. There is an opportunity for them to eat lunch together should they not be in the same group.
Q: Should my daughter bring her sunglasses, hat, backpack, baseball glove, etc.?
A:We prefer the campers do not bring extra items to camp as they tend to get lost. We have all the materials needed for a fun day (including snacks, sunscreen and a water bottle)
Q:My daughter has an injury or condition that may limit her participation.
A:Please talk to the Camp WIN staff. They will be sure that the everyone is aware and we will limit your camper appropriately.
Q:When should my camper wear her Camp WIN shirt?
A:We invite all the campers to wear their shirts on the final day of camp.
Q: What sports are today?
A: The sports for each day will be outlined in the parent email each night prior to camp along with in the subsequent evening email.
PICK UP/DROP OFF
Q: What time should I come to pick up?
A: Pick up time is 4:00 p.m. We prefer not to let the girls out early as we have activities until 4:00. There will be a no pick up time range from 3:30-4:00pm unless there is an emergency.
Q: What if I need to pick up my camper early?
A: Let a volunteer at check in know so they can alert the staff. When you arrive, look for a staff member and they will help you locate your camper and check her out.
Q: Where do Team Captains and Junior Team Captains check in?
A: Team captains and junior team captains should report to the check in tables at the time(s) specified by the Camp WIN staff.
Q: I see camp is from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. - is there an early drop-off or late pick-up available?
Early Drop-off: Camp WIN does offer an early drop-off for $25/camper that you can sign up for through your registration. This allows campers to be dropped off beginning at 7:30 a.m. All other campers will be able to check-in at 8:30 a.m.
Late Pick-up: Camp WIN does offer late pick-up for $25/camper that you can sign up for through your registration. This allows campers to be picked up as late as 5 p.m. All other camps will need to be picked up by 4 p.m.
Pick Up Policy: Camp WIN offers a paid late pick-up options which allows campers to stay at camp until 5 pm. All other campers must be picked up at 4 pm.Timely pick-up is essential for student safety and staff supervision. Parents and guardians are expected to pick up campers by the designated time, 5pm. If a child is not picked up within 30 minutes of dismissal and our staff is unable to reach a parent/guardian or emergency contact, we may be required to contact local authorities or child services to ensure the child’s safety.
COMMUNICATION
Q: I am concerned that my camper cannot have her phone. What if I need to get a hold of her or vice-versa?
A: We ask that NO cell phones and smart watches be sent with any camper to Camp WIN. If you need to get in touch with your camper during the day, please call camp staff and we will get you in touch with your camper. We will call you if your camper needs to communicate with you.
Q: I am not receiving Camp WIN emails, what should I do?
A: Please contact info@winforkc.org to check what email is on file with your registration. ALL emails will be coming directly from the registration system (RunSignUp.com) so be sure to check your spam and junk folders in case they get flagged.
FOOD
Q: My camper brought her own lunch (or snacks), where can she store it?
A: Camper lunches are brought into the gym and put in the team bin. There is no refrigerator available for lunches or snacks.
Q: I’m concerned about my camper’s food allergy.
A: We do not provide food accommodations for allergies and/or dietary restrictions. We ask that campers with food allergies bring their own lunches and snacks to best ensure their safety.
Q: What is for lunch today?
A: Lunches are prepared daily by our lunch provider. We will send out menu via email once it is solidified.
