INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

INTERN WITH THE KANSAS CITY SPORTS COMMISSION & WIN FOR KC!

The Kansas City Sports Commission & WIN for KC offer spring, summer and fall internships to college students and recent graduates.  Internship periods are based on school semester length and can be utilized for course credit. 

Our internship program is full-time (M-F, 9am-5pm) with some nights and weekends depending on event schedule.  Our internship is unpaid; however, interns will have the opportunity to network with high-profile individuals and organizations within the Kansas City community and attend a variety of sports related activities and events, providing valuable, hands-on industry experience.  Out of state candidates are encouraged to apply, but no housing is offered. 

Internship opportunities are available within our Graphic Design, Events,
Marketing and WIN for KC teams: 

GRAPHIC DESIGN INTERN

The Graphic Design Intern will play a role in supporting our in-house graphic designer and work with our events and marketing teams on their graphic needs.  The Graphic Design Intern will help to create various marketing and promotional materials including email and social graphics, t-shirts, and event signage.  Graphic Design Interns may be asked to assist with designing digital advertisements, bid content creation and more.  All Graphic Design applicants MUST have design software access on their personal computer.  Acceptable software includes Photoshop, Illustrator and/or InDesign.  The Graphic Design Intern will assist with all events during their respective semester.  

EVENTS INTERN

The Events Intern will play a role in supporting our events.  The role will support our events team with planning, management, and execution.  The Events Intern will assist with local events such as the Kansas City Triathlon, Kansas City Sports Awards Banquet, Garmin Kansas City Marathon and more.  The Events Intern will assist with national events such as the Men’s & Women’s Big 12 Basketball Championships, NCAA Regional and Tournament events and other events hosted by NGBs.  The Event Intern will assist with all events during their respective semester.   

MARKETING INTERN

The Marketing Intern will play a role with the management and allocation of marketing assets.  The role will support the marketing team.  The Marketing Intern will help maintain social media accounts through regular content creation and postings and assist with website and email as needed.  Marketing Interns may also assist the marketing team with updating sponsorship presentations, partnership activation and various other duties.   The Marketing Intern will assist with all events during their respective semester. 

WIN FOR KC INTERN

The WIN for KC Intern will play a role in supporting our WIN for KC team.  The role will support WIN for KC with the planning, management and execution of various programs and events aimed at supporting WIN for KC’s vision of empowering women and girls through sports.  The WIN for KC Intern will assist with local events and programs such as the WIN for KC Women’s Sports Awards, Camp WIN and more.  The WIN for KC Intern will assist with all events during their respective semester.
