WIN FOR KC KICKS OFF “WIN WELLNESS” CAMPAIGN, PRESENTED BY BANK OF AMERICA AND SUNLIGHTEN

KANSAS CITY, MO (February 5, 2025) – Coming off a successful 2025 Women’s Sports Awards yesterday, WIN for KC is excited to officially kickoff its new “WIN Wellness” campaign, which is presented by Bank of America and Sunlighten. WIN Wellness is a mental health initiative and fundraising campaign dedicated to creating awareness, resources and programming around mental health for women and girls of all ages. In 2025, WIN Wellness programming will be available to the public in the form of:

  • A bi-monthly online video series featuring conversations that are timely and relevant to women & girls. The concept, which pairs women and girls of different backgrounds together, will showcase important dialogues around mental health challenges and opportunities at different stages of life. The first video episode, which focuses on body image, debuted today and can be viewed on the WIN for KC YouTube channel here.

  • A new half day corporate women’s mental health retreat that will be geared specifically towards working women in the Kansas City community. The retreat, which is presented by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City, will be hosted on May 2 at Unity Village.

  • An in-person WIN Wellness event in December that will feature a panel conversation on mental health issues and will culminate the first year of WIN Wellness programming.

“Bank of America is honored to partner with WIN for KC to help create meaningful conversations with WIN Wellness and provide essential mental health resources that will benefit women and girls at every stage of life,” said Matt Linski, president, Bank of America Kansas City. “The launch of WIN Wellness represents a unique opportunity to support the wellbeing of women and girls in our Kansas City community and powerfully demonstrates that mental health is just as prioritized as physical health in empowering women to achieve their full potential.”

“For thirty years, WIN for KC has empowered the lives of girls and women by promoting the lifetime values of sports and fitness. And while ‘wellness’ has always been a part of our messaging, we believe WIN for KC can do even more to champion mental health best practices,” said Taylor Obersteadt, Director of WIN for KC. “This is one of the ways we’re evolving to meet the needs of our community for decades to come.”

“At Sunlighten, our mission has always been to empower people to feel better, so they can live fuller, happier lives and do more of what they love. We believe that wellness isn’t just physical—it’s deeply mental and emotional, too. Infrared light has proven to support mental health, offering a path to calm, clarity, and balance. We’re proud to be a part of WIN Wellness and help bring hope, healing, and connection to women and girls in Kansas City through the value of including sports and fitness in a lifetime of wellness. Together, we can create a brighter, healthier future—one where everyone has the opportunity to shine,” said Connie Zack, co-founder, Sunlighten.

Additional WIN Wellness sponsors include AdventHealth, Tico Sports, Kansas City University and SCHEELS, who will also help provide content and expertise to this new initiative.
