Camp WIN offers scholarships toward registration fees so any girl has the opportunity to attend Camp WIN regardless of their financial situation. This assistance is available to individuals as well as to multiple campers within the same household. Thanks to a variety of resources including corporate and private donations, financial assistance is available for those in need. Below, please find more information as well as a link to apply.
What does a scholarship to Camp WIN cover?
Financial Assistance for Camp WIN will cover registration fees (maximum of $280). Scholarships are not granted toward additional inclusions or transportation.
How will scholarship amounts be determined?
Eligibility is determined based on the Missouri Department of Elementary & Secondary Education Free & Reduced Price Meals sliding scale (click here for more info), which factors in both household income and family size. In addition, we will consider other factors such as extenuating family circumstances and proof of participation in any of the following programs:
Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC)
Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
Supplemental Security Disability Insurance (SSDI)
Women, Infants & Children (WIC)
Subsidized Housing (HUD)
Food Stamps
Unemployment Benefits
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
All information will be confidential and used only for the purpose of establishing eligibility for Camp WIN Scholarships.
Upon consideration, you will be notified of your scholarship status, which may include:
An award of 100% of the program fee
Wait-listed for financial aid, usually due to insufficient funds
Not eligible for aid – either due to incomplete application or other reasons
How is confidential information handled?
Only you and the WIN for KC staff will have knowledge of the financial assistance applications.
How quickly can I expect to be notified of a scholarship and amount?
This will depend on how quickly you complete the Scholarship Application, gather the requested documents and turn them in. After we receive the necessary information, you will receive communication within a 7-10 business days. Upon consideration, you will be notified of your scholarship status (as outlined above).
How do I apply?
Complete the confidential application form and email the necessary financial documents to the WIN for KC team at info@winforkc.org.
Applicable documents may include proof of participation in any of the programs listed above.
*Include copies for all individuals contributing to household income.
What sessions/locations can I apply for a scholarship to?
Availability is dependent upon what sessions and locations still have spots open for campers to join. When applying, all available locations and dates will be provided for your choosing.
May I do anything in return for this assistance?
Yes! WIN for KC is a volunteer organization who relies heavily on volunteers to ensure successful events. We are always seeking volunteers to help in a variety of capacities at our events – join our email list to stay up to date on volunteer opportunities.
