Katie joined the Kansas City Sports Commission team as the Director of Marketing in February 2025.  In this role, Katie is responsible for overseeing the marketing calendar, campaigns, and communications for the Kansas City Sports Commission and WIN for KC events and initiatives.

Katie spent the majority of her career in athletics and marketing.  Most recently, Katie led the marketing efforts for Charlie Hustle, a KC-based clothing company.  As the Director of Marketing, she oversaw the Product Design and Marketing teams and was integral to the company's growth in revenue and brand awareness. She developed and implemented the Communi-Tees program which raised funds and awareness for Kansas City-based 501c3 organizations.  Prior to the eight years at Charlie Hustle, Katie worked as an Assistant Volleyball Coach at Wake Forest University and as an Academic Counselor for the Track and Field, Women's Soccer, and Women's Basketball teams at the University of Kansas.

Katie was a volleyball student-athlete at the University of Kansas where she double majored in Business Marketing and Sport Management.  She earned her master's degree in the Psychology of Sport & Fitness through the University of Kansas.  Katie was recognized as the Big 12 Female Sportsperson of the Year in 2008 for her performances on the court, in the classroom, and in the community.

In Katie's free time, she enjoys traveling, seeing John Mayer in concert, coaching volleyball, and spending time with her family.
