CAMP WIN


FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

GENERAL

Should my daughter bring her sunglasses, hat, backpack, baseball glove, etc.? 
We prefer the campers do not bring extra items to camp as they tend to get lost.  We have all the materials needed for a fun day (including snacks, sunscreen and a water bottle) 

My daughter has an injury or condition that may limit her participation. 
Please talk to the lead coordinator on staff.  They will be sure that the everyone is aware and we will limit your camper appropriately. 

When should my camper wear her Camp WIN shirt?   
We invite all the campers to wear their shirts on THURSDAY. 

Will my camper be in a group with her friends?   
Campers are grouped by age unless they requested a buddy during registration AND that buddy also requested them.  See Lead Coordinator with any specific grouping concerns. 

What sports are today? 
The sports for each day will be outlined in the parent email each night prior to camp along with in the subsequent evening email. 

PICK UP/DROP OFF

What time should I come to pick up?   
Pick up time is 4:00 p.m.  We prefer not to let the girls out early as we have activities until 4:00. 

What if I need to pick up my camper early? 
Let volunteer at check in know so they can alert the staff. When you arrive, look for a staff member and they will help you locate your camper and check her out. 

Where do Team Captains (TC) and Junior Team Captains (JTC) check in? 
TCs and JTCs should report to the gym to check in at the time(s) specified by the Team Captain Coordinator.

I see camp is from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. - is there an early drop-off or late pick-up available? 
Early Drop-off: Camp WIN does offer an early drop-off for $25/camper that you can sign up for through your registration. This allows campers to be dropped off beginning at 7:30 a.m. All other campers will be able to check-in at 8:30 a.m.
Late Pick-up: Unfortunately, we do not offer late pick up for campers at this time. All campers must be picked up beginning at 4 p.m. 

COMMUNICATION

I am concerned that my camper cannot have her phone.  What if I need to get a hold of her or vice-versa? 
We ask that NO cell phones be sent with any camper to Camp WIN. If you need to get in touch with your camper during the day, please call camp staff at ‪913-608-4472‬, and staff will you in touch with your camper.  We will call you if your camper needs to communicate with you. 

I am not receiving Camp WIN emails, what should I do? 
Please contact info@winforkc.org to check what email is on file with your registration. ALL emails will be coming directly from the registration system (RunSignUp.com) so be sure to check your spam and junk folders in case they get flagged.  

FOOD

My camper brought her own lunch (or snacks), where can she store it? 
Camper lunches are brought into the gym and put in the team bin.  There is no refrigerator available for lunches or snacks. 

I’m concerned about my camper’s food allergy. 
See a member of the Camp WIN staff to double check that you indicated this during registration.  If it is on our list, we will accommodate food allergies for snacks and lunch.  Gluten free and vegetarian lunches have been prepared for those who requested them during registration. 

What is for lunch today? 
Lunches are prepared daily by our lunch provider. We will send out menu via email once it is solidified.
